Frequently Asked Questions

Litigation is the process of bringing a legal case to court. It’s when you get your dispute with another party to a judge or jury to decide who has the right to claim compensation for the harm done.

The use of litigation in courts is usually to resolve conflicts between two or more parties. However, there are other ways in which litigation can be used. For example, litigation may also be used to determine who has ownership of a piece of land or property.

Litigation has five stages:

  1. Pre-action conduct.
  2. Issuing the claim and exchanging statements of claim & Defence.
  3. Exchange of evidence.
  4. Trial
  5. Post-trial – Appeal and Enforcement.

The purpose of litigation is to give the court a clear understanding of the facts surrounding a dispute and to help them reach a fair decision.

Family lawyers in litigation are not only great at solving problems, but they also know how to win. Family law is a field that requires specific knowledge and experience, and family lawyers in litigation have both.
